Lucio Cataldo McLou is regarded as one of the most celebrated Italian fashion photographers of our times. His photographs have been published internationally in magazines such as Vogue-Gioiello Donna Moderna, La Sposa, Moda Bimbi, La Mia Boutique and PellicceModa. He has collaborated with leading Fashion Houses and Designers, from Gianni Versace, Ottavio Missoni and Prince Egon Von Furstenberg, to Henry Fisher and Zoukas Bross.Born in Sicily, Class 1955 to a traditional Catholic family, from a painter/poetess mother, and an Italian AirForce marshal father. McLou made his first attempts as a photographer spotting curious, originals and unique situations of spontaneous children to the sea, creating black and white artistic photographs. His career began when in the early '80s he moved to Milan, where was published his first Covershoot of the magazine “Life Photographers” and many others to follow introducing himself to the world of fashion. McLou won acclaim for his photography style, which has been described as eclectic and unique like an authentic artist, obtaining original compositions of aesthetic taste equal to true Art works.
After made several campaigns for leading fashion houses as “Ciao”, “Meribel” and “Accento Marzotto” contributing to their success, McLou moved from Milan to Paris in 1986, where in April, he was recognized the best photographer of the ' year at the “ International Center of Contemporary Art of Paris ” exhibiting 15 Art Works about Fashion and the famous Carnival of Venice.
Known for the extraordinary way to impress the time with his particular/perfect “black and white” and his experience and ability in the use of Analogic Optica Bench, McLou's spontaneous, has documented subjects from A-list stars, supermodels and artists, to subjects that he has encoutered throughout his travels, from magnificent Exotic landscapes, cities by night to moments of common life made magic by his touch.
